Audrey’s Place is committed to positively impacting one life today so that many lives can be positively impacted in the future. We aim to strengthen Canada’s healthcare system by alleviating financial pressures and supporting the success of aspiring nurses in their education.
Why nursing?
A 2018 analysis predicted a shortage of nearly 120,000 nurses in Canada by 2030. In 2020, 73% of Canadian nurses said their institutions were overcapacity in a survey. These figures highlighted the need to make nursing careers more financially accessible so we can help grow the medical workforce.
We are thrilled to see that as of 2019, Ontario nursing student enrollments have remained on the rise and want to support these students with our annual scholarship programs.
Annual nursing program costs reflect the extensive resources and training required to educate the next generation of nurses. In 2023, U of T’s Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing tuitions came to:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN): $12,000 per year (2-year accelerated program)
- Master of Nursing (MN): $15,000 per year (2-year program)
- Doctoral (PhD): $9,000 per year (4-year program)
At Audrey’s Place, we are helping students cover these costs so they can pursue their dreams of healing others and providing Canadians the quality healthcare they need.
