Thank You!
Dear Audrey’s Place Foundation,
My name is Yekyung (Angela) Gu, a first-year graduate student studying to be a nurse practitioner in primary health care with a master’s degree in nursing. I am ever so grateful to be awarded recipient of the Don McLauchlin Memorial Nursing Award. Thank you. Working as a nurse at the bedside has certainly had its ups and downs, but the recent few years have been particularly challenging in the intensive care unit through the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this time, I felt compelled to expand my capacity to help through education. Though I was so sure of my academic aspirations, I had to take a leap of faith as finances were uncertain. For this reason, I was extremely humbled upon being informed of your donation as award that will cover the tuition of my studies. It is truly a gift, an acknowledgement of my service to the community as well as an encouragement to my foundational goal which is to live a life that is helpful to others. I am always trying to remember that who I am today and where I am today cannot be credited to my own efforts alone. I humbly appreciate the anonymous helping hands and sacrifices of family, friends, and donors such as yourselves. There has been so much support, guidance and upbringing from the community that has been graced to me that I one day hope to be able to continue to pass onto the future generation as well. Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Angela
